How long does withdrawal really last? The truth is, it’s different for everyone. In this video, I share my personal experience with withdrawal, which I went through multiple times. The last two were the worst, lasting weeks, maybe even months.
The duration depends on several factors: what substance you’re using, how much you’ve been taking, and your individual body chemistry. Different drugs cause different physical withdrawal symptoms, some lasting much longer than others.
For me, opiate withdrawal was severe and I needed medication to help manage it safely—going cold turkey wasn’t an option. Your withdrawal could last anywhere from a couple days to several months. Every journey is unique.
