Breaking the Silence

From the May 5th Show - Truth in Advertising

May 4, 2009 10:41 by larry

The two rings segment brought comments from the recent advertisement in Newsweek magazine The Partnership For a Drug Free America sponsored.  The ad was graphic and a strong message to educate your kids about the dangers of prescription drugs.    The show took great issue with the ad.

The ad did nothing to educate the adults.  The kids know what the prescription drugs can do and the adults remain clueless.  As the song from Lil Whyte conveyed, Oxycontin, Xanax, Valium and Percocet can get you high.  The adults continue to take them by the boatloads.  The Partnership accepts money from the very companies that are killing thousands of adults every year and the Partnership remains quiet about who the target consumer is.

In our state of Florida, the first six months of 2008 brought another 2500 deaths that included legal drugs in the body compared to 71 deaths attributed to heroin!   About 35 times more people are dying from legal drugs than heroin!  It is documented that more than half of those deaths are people over 35.  We have a killing field of adults in our country and the Partnership for a Drug Free America continues to take money and help promote the drugs that are helping to addict and kill our loved ones.   Comments welcome.
