From the 3/15 Show - Tulsa World Newspaper Gets It Right

The last show spent time recognizing a significant newspaper article written during the previous week.

David Zizzo, writer for the Tulsa World, used the by-line “Heroin in Pill Form” in the center of his article.  David credit’s the quote to a local Tulsa doctor in the addiction and recovery field. The piece in the Tulsa World last week not only included the dangers of the narcotic “pain pills”, but also wrote “government agencies have dropped the ball” and “in controlling their use physicians who prescribe them get almost no training on addiction”.

I have waited over two years for a reporter to accurately help describe the cause of the silent epidemic I mention weekly. I hope David Zizzo’s article is only the first that represents a media that is finally starting to understand a major cause of the growing number of addictions and deaths from the prescription drugs.  Let’s hope more reporters begin to follow David’s lead in the search for the truth about OxyContin.

Again, my congratulations to David Rizzo of the Tulsa World newspaper.
